When it comes to artists who offer commissions (for either points or money, this can apply to both), they do so because they wish to earn their chosen form of currency for a reason, often that reason is so that they can save up to commission other artists, allowing them to do the same (as is the case with me).
This next bit applies more to those who offer money commissions, but usually they do so because there is a certain item/multiple items they are currently saving up for, or because they have bills to pay that they may need a little help with - all of which are perfectly understandable reasons for opening up commissions.

This isn't what I hate. What I hate is when those artists are asked if they can take the time and effort, required to draw out a commission for someone, only to be told that the person asking doesn't have the means to pay for it (and they've known this from the start, even before they asked), leading them to attempt to get the artist to feel sorry for them by saying things like "well i cant pay you now, is it ok i cant pay you at all? Sorry but i got zero points left... "
...Not being able to pay the artist at the time may be a little annoying to some, but it's bearable as long as the commissioner keeps their promise to pay up at a later date. But asking if it's alright to not pay AT ALL for something that clearly requires payment, is basically fishing for free art and THAT in my opinion is just plain wrong, rude and insulting to the artist...

You have a good point, that's why I make more of my art for my sake, than for somebody else
